I took my time getting up, but I made it to work on time.
Today was my first work day of no breakfast in ages, it's in an effort to cut a few calories.
At lunch I also skipped the cookie I've been getting occasionally.
I don't know how much difference it will make, but there's only one way to find out.
My day started with an appointment with Bobby from Boulder.
It's always nice to see him, and a little wild he's one of the only people I see from Boulder, but I'll take it.
He picked up some Dries, and then headed out.
Then a client picked two pairs of pants from my outreach on Thursday. We are waiting on the third, but I sent the first two.
I did a quick update in Prada, after a few new arrivals yesterday.
We ended up having a great day in the shop.
Not sure if any of it was actually new, but it doesn't matter.
I helped a coworker with two Prada dopp kits, then Scott sold a vest while I was wrapping the gifts.
Went to lunch, and came back to help a guy with a sweater.
He decided he needed a different size, so I located it for him on Madison.
Next I'm helping another guy.
This guy just kind of keeps adding and trying things.
He had a nice pile, and then headed to the bathroom.
Then I got pulled into help a customer, that said they know me.
Turns out I helped him once, and I outreach to them regularly, but he never replies.
Loser.
Well, he thought that his mom bought a sweatshirt from me. I said I don't think so.
He was like, it could have been awhile ago.
I was like, well, I guess what are you looking to do.
Turns out he washed a sweatshirt and it shrunk. And he thinks it's our fault.
I was like, it's not our fault, but it is something you can easily fix if you just soak in warm water and conditioner and just stretch it back out to your desired shape.
And he was like, that's not on the care label.
To which I said, no. It wouldn't be. This is the solution to you not following the care label.
I was like, in the 4 years we've sold this piece, I've never had a complaint. The sweatshirt has no quality concerns, merely a temporary flaw.
He had no proof of purchasing it with us, and I vividly remember helping him and his mom years ago, and then a return exception we made months after the grace period.
So by no means is he a good customer, nor is he a client.
Anyway, the Dior manager was talking to him, so I stepped away, back to my real customer.
I rang up my customer, and as I was finishing, the Dior kid came over, brandishing his phone screen to say, don't you ever text me again!
I let him walk away, but my customer was like, "what was that about?"
To which I said, he washed a sweatshirt, and it shrunk, and he wasn't happy we couldn't do anything about it.
My customer was like, "some people. I guess we had to let him have his Julia Roberts moment."
I appreciated his comment.
Once he left, the sweater customer (not the Dior sweatshirt guy) from earlier, came back to buy a sweater. He said he found the one he wanted, but wanted to get the other version.
I was pleased he came back to me.
My Miracle On 34th Street sales style perhaps won him over.
Overall, I had a great day.
Thankfully.
After work I got a ride with Jason and Tina, and came home to eat my leftover pizza and watch The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.
I forget how much of this is in the book, but I feel like it's very little.
Or just far less detailed.
I'll continue the other movies when I can.
Until Tomorrow.
