Riz

February 11 2025.

Slept better last night since I had the hotel change my bedding to a top sheet and blanket.

I was still a little warm, but not too bad.

I haven’t had great luck on this trip with sleep temperatures.

We started the day by the family joining me in bed and eating some breakfast.

Then we went to the sauna and pool again.

I then took a shower, finalized packing and we were on our way.

I arrived a little early to the airport, only to realize I didn’t need to go through immigration since my flight wasn’t leaving the EU.

So I checked which gate I was headed to, to find out that my 13:10 boarding time, wouldn’t have a gate until 13:15.

Not sure how that works.

I got questionable Sour Skittles, with no sour sugar coating. And a bag of Werther’s Original popcorn.

Then I got lunch at Burger King.

A chicken sandwich, fries and an Oreo milkshake, that tasted a little odd.

Then it was boarding time.

I thankfully didn’t have anyone directly next to me, and the flight was quick.

We did take a bus a short distance, and felt unnecessary.

Now I was able to go through immigration.

The electronic passports are really a godsend.

So easy.

Then I headed to my gate where I was asked for my boarding pass, passport, and a few safety questions before I could even sit in the boarding area.

My flight wasn’t full, which was lucky because my in flight entertainment was down. So I moved a few rows back, and got my own row.

I started with Can You Ever Forgive Me? It’s a great movie.

Then I watched Jojo Rabbit.

Which is such a great movie. Sweet, and funny. While also reminding me how things can be.

Next I watched Sound Of Metal.

It’s such a powerful movie. Sad, sweet, anxiety inducing.

Not to mention how beautiful Riz Ahmed is.

It makes me remember when I tried to learn sign language in elementary school.

Especially after spending the week with Hayley’s baby who signs.

I ended my flight with Free Guy.

I needed something a bit lighter.

It’s one I really love.

Off the plane I went through the Global Entry line, but I was surprised they asked me all the questions they'd normally ask the general people.

On the cab ride home I called my mom and caught up.

Once at home I unpacked, went through my mail, and phones, and now I'm ready for tomorrow.

Until Tomorrow.
